Copying the entire Spoken English Learned Quickly course. The simplest way to download either portions of Spoken English Learned Quickly or the entire course is to use one of five special links:
Printing the lesson. Each lesson may be printed by opening the PDF document for that lesson. There are three ways to open the PDF document:
If you have a lesson open, click on the Download Icon
on the top of the page.
Or, from the Home page, you can click on the AB letters beside the lesson number.
Also, on the Home page, you can click on the Lesson Downloads link, then click on the Download Icon
for the lesson you want to print.
Downloading lesson files to your own computer. You may download any printed lesson (PDF document) to your own computer. If you have a lesson open, right-click on the Download Icon
on the top of the lesson page. (You can also right click on the AB link by any lesson on the Home page.) The File menu will open. Select Save Target As. Select a file on your computer in which you wish to save the document. Name the file and press Enter.
You can also download the Instructor's Guide in the same way.
Recording audio lessons. We designed Spoken English Learned Quickly so that it would cost you the least amount of money to use. It is less expensive for you to record the audio lessons from your own computer than it would be to purchase CDs or audio tapes shipped from the United States. You can place an audio cassette tape recorder in front of your computer speakers to record the lessons. For recording, click on the AB link on the Home page, and then click the Download icon
in the lesson. You can also use the Lesson Downloads link from the Home page.
Do not use the Media Icon
from individual lesson pages for recording. These portions of the lesson are too short. (Do not record from an exercise lesson.)
If you have a lesson open, click on the Download Icon
on the top of the page. You can then record by clicking on the Media Icon
in the PDF document. (In most lessons, there is a second Media Icon in the middle of the lesson for the B portion of the lesson.)
From the Home page, you can click on the AB letters beside the lesson number, and then click on the Media Icon
in the PDF document.
If your computer does not have enough memory to open both the PDF document and the Media Player, you can use the Lesson Downloads link on the Home page. This link allows you to open one file at a time. Click on the A or B Media Icon
for the lesson you want to record.
Place a cassette tape recorder in front of your computer speakers and record each half of the lesson. You can record the A part on one side of a 60-minute cassette recording tape, and the B part on the other side. The A part is always longer than the B part so that you can turn the tape over immediately after the A part is finished.
Downloading audio files to your own computer. You may download either the WMA or the MP3 audio files to your own computer. Download the WMA files if you want to study from you own computer offline because WMA files use less computer memory. Download the MP3 files if you want to make MP3 CDs. However, MP3 files use more computer memory and take longer to download. The Media Player on your computer should be able to play either WMA or MP3 files.
In order to download audio files to your computer, use the Lesson Downloads link. Right click on the link you wish to download. When the file menu opens, click on Save Target As. Select the file on your computer in which you want to save the audio file and press enter.
Use the A or B links to download WMA files.
Use the A1-MP3, A2-MP3, B1-MP3, or B2-MP3 links to download MP3 files.
If you use an MP3 CD for language study, you can print a Time Chart to help you locate each exercise on the CD.
Downloading AUTORUN files to make your own CDs. If you make your own CD, you must have an AUTORUN function on the CD to automatically open it to the index (home) page. This requires two files on your CD. The first file is the launch.exe file which controls the CD. The second file is the autorun.inf file which identifies the page on which the CD will open. You can download both files from our website.
Download the launch.exe file. A dialog box will pop up asking "Do you want to save this file?" Click Save and place it in your Spoken English Learned Quickly CD folder.
Download the autorun.inf file. Again, a dialog box will pop up asking "Do you want to save this file?" Click Save and place it in your Spoken English Learned Quickly CD folder.
The autorun.inf file must be set to the file you want it to open. If you double click on the autorun.inf file in your folder, it should say [autorun]open=launch.exe "index.html" when it opens. If you name your home page index.html, the AUTORUN will open that file as your home page. If you are using another extension such as .htm, or another file name, make whatever changes are necessary in the space between the "..." marks.

Search the web for P2P files. Spoken English Learned Quickly is usually available on Peer-to-Peer websites for free downloading. The free downloads usually include only the Student Workbook as a printable PDF document and the MP3 audio files. The Student Workbook includes all the lesson, table, and vocabulary material which is on our website. However, it is not organized into individual lesson pages as found on www.FreeEnglishNow.com. (Note: be certain that the Student Workbook is the ©2006 edition.)
If you want your CD to contain more information, copy our Home page and then add other pages from the website. You will want to include the INFORMATION FOR THE STUDENT and FABLE files in the languages spoken in your country. (You will also need to add AUTORUN files so the CD will open correctly.)
Warning: Spyware, and viruses are a risk on some P2P websites. They can harm your computer. Choose a P2P website which scans all downloadable MP3 and text material before it is posted. All of our material is spyware and virus free, but we cannot guarantee that others have not added dangerous "stuff."
